Indiana – Senate Bill 503, effective January 1, 2006, prohibits the submission of a document to the County Recorder’s office if the document contains a social security number. In addition, each document submitted must be accompanied by a signed declaration form indicating that the document has been reviewed, and attesting that there are no social security numbers present. Please note that implementation of this law has so far been inconsistent among the counties. For those counties that do require this form, there will be an additional $2 fee.
